The earliest memorabilia we have of the club is a 1924 fixture card, this then is the year we claim to have been formed although it is likely to have been earlier than this.

Our ground on Oakfield Lane in Warsop saw many changes. It was originally a cricket and football pitch, but the football field was sold in the 60’s for housing. These are the houses at the top end of the ground.

Improvements in the changing facilities coincided with the upturn of playing fortunes for the club that saw Welbeck become arguably the top club in the County from the mid 80’s to the early 2000’s.We are now going through a transitional period, trying to introduce our home grown talent to fit amongst the experience we have in the teams.
However, the biggest change we have seen happened recently, in 2007, when we moved to our new facility on Sookholme Road. This gives us a new lease of life and will enable us to attract new young players and also established players to our club.
Our ultimate dream would be to get County Cricket on our new ground and this is a definite possibility once the wicket has settled and we get the go ahead from Trent Bridge.
I welcome all visiting players and supporters to the John Fretwell Sporting Complex and hope they will enjoy our facilities. I also wish all our players, young or old, a great season and remember the spirit the game should be played in.
